NYS Division of Human Rights enforces the NYS Human Rights Law which prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, credit and volunteer firefighters. Discrimination may involve age, sex, race, color, genetic predisposition, gender identity or expression, national origin, creed, marital status, familial status, domestic violence victim status, military status, sexual preference-sexual orientation, arrest, conviction, disability and service animals.
